Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG) of the UN Agenda 2030 focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education, promoting learning opportunities for all. This point recognizes that education plays a crucial role in promoting economic growth, reducing inequality and promoting peace.
A quality education is foundamental to let individuals and communities to realize their full potential. This goal aims to ensure that every child has access to free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education, eliminating barriers such as poverty, gender discrimination and disability.
Furthermore, it promotes higher education accessible to all, encouraging technical and professional training. Also, this goal focus the attention on the training of teachers, who, if well prepared and motivated, play a fundamental role in offering quality education, also promoting the culture of respect for the teaching profession, which is essential to prepare the new generations to face global challenges such as climate change, digitalisation and globalization by training truly responsible and aware citizens of the world we live in.
